There was a time when the epitome of effective advertising was the jingle. A memorable, hummable jingle was, in today’s parlance, sticky. Who doesn't remember; "Plop, Plop, Fizz, Fizz Oh what a relief it is, ...... or Mcdonald's famous Big Mac song "Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, onions, pickles on a seaseme seed bun", .... or how about if you have a plumbing problem, Roto Rooter that's the name, away goes trouble down the drain".
Jingles used in advertising are cetainly nothing new, they were extremely popular in the 60's, 70's and even peaked by monsterous proportions in the 80's, but they have been nearly extinct in the advertising world for the past decade or so....But, according to an Adage article -- that's about to all change!!! That's right, "jingles" are poised for a BIG comeback for helping with brand retention and recognition. Even older jingles, are getting makeovers...same catchy tune, with just more of a modern flair,
